First-Timers' Ride: Welcoming New Bikers to the Community

A Ride Designed for All Levels

We planned a smooth, 10-mile loop along the Riverfront Trail with minimal traffic and plenty of rest stops. Many riders brought their first-ever bike, freshly tuned and ready to roll. From hybrid bikes to cruisers, it was a colorful mix of wheels and wide smiles. Volunteer ride leaders paced the group and shared tips on everything from shifting gears to stopping safely in traffic. New members appreciated the chance to learn without pressure, and several mentioned how easy it was to ride with the group.

After the ride, we gathered at Flat Tire Pizza for slices and stories. Some folks parked their bikes and stayed late, while others grabbed takeout and rode into the night. Either way, no one wanted the evening to end.
